NATIONWIDE SEARCH!! On-the-go family that splits time between Boston, Northern Michigan and a variety of other vacation homes around the US and abroad are looking for an incredible special needs-focused, full-time (live-out) nanny/family assistant to add to their team! Compensation is $90K/yr gross + includes a health insurance stipend + generous PTO! The family is happy to cover relocation expenses for candidates who are relocating.
The family has two children ages 15 and 11. The eldest child has moderate special needs (emotional/behavioral, not physical). The right candidate for this role will have past experience working with a variety of special needs and is very kind, patient, affectionate and compassionate. The younger child is extremely active and loves everything physical including snowboarding, dancing, and riding horses. The schedule will primarily be mornings, Mon-Fri from 6:30am-1:30 pm, and a significant portion of the job is driving, as the eldest child attends school an hour away from their home; you should have a pristine driving record. Both parents have busy careers, travel, and want the best for their children. The family’s Christian faith is very important to them and translates to their value system – they’re searching for a candidate who can understand and respect their beliefs.
Duties will include full childcare as well as family assistant work – children’s laundry, cooking/meal prep, grocery shopping, running errands, managing household vendors/contractors, taking inventory and re-stocking household supplies, ensuring the cars are maintained, etc. The family does have a weekly housekeeper for deep cleaning. This is a position for a career nanny who is looking for a long-term role and shares the family’s love of travel. They spend the entirety of the summer in Northern Michigan and will require 4 weeks of work in MI (does not need to be consecutive). The ideal candidate will be calm, structured, warm, thoughtful, proactive, and not easily ruffled. You will be seen as part of the family and as a partner with the parents and their other nanny. Must be able to swim, be fully COVID-vaccinated and willing to get a flu shot annually. If you are passionate about special needs and looking for a truly amazing long-term role please apply – this is a truly exceptional family and we are excited to find them someone equally special! Position starts June 1st!
