FAQs

What qualifications do I need to be represented by Westside Nannies?
Please see our Requirements section.

How can I improve my chances of getting a position?
Westside Nannies gives priority to nannies that have a professional nanny portfolio inclusive of their childcare resume, cover letter, and reference letters from previous employers. A complete portfolio would also include copies of any certificates, degrees, awards and/or copies of certifications such as CPR/First Aid Training.

What is the average length of commitment for a position?
Westside Nannies requires our nannies be willing to make a minimum 2 year commitment to a family, although it is not atypical for a nanny to stay with a family for up to 3-5 years.

May I apply for a nanny position if I currently live out of state?
No, Westside Nannies only represents nannies that currently reside in Los Angeles. If you plan to move to Los Angeles in the near future, you may submit your application one week prior to your move and contact Westside Nannies upon your arrival. If you do not live in Los Angeles, please proceed to www.nanny.org to find your nearest nanny agency.

What responsibilities and duties will I be expected to carry out as a nanny?
Each nanny position is conducive to the needs of the family. General duties include feeding, dressing, bathing, arranging educational, age-appropriate activities for the children and ensuring their safety and supervision at all times. Additional duties may include light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands and general family assistant duties. It is important that nannies adhere to the childcare philosophy of the parents’ choice.

How many hours a day does a nanny typically work?
Nannies typically work 10-12 hours a day and most positions demand a high level of flexibility.

What kinds of benefits can I expect?
Westside Nannies works to provide a superlative salary and benefits package for each of our nannies. Although we cannot ensure it, some positions include health insurance, paid vacation, paid holidays, and a car for on-the-job transportation.
